“Our trains run on time when YOU run on time!”

The Atlantic Express (originally named the Atlantic Transportation Company on the train's blueprints) was created by Prentice Mill to be the primary mass transit system of Rapture. It was eventually made obsolete by competition from the increasing private bathysphere use and the expanding Rapture Metro. Prentice Mill put his cash reserves into the city's banking system when asked by Andrew Ryan, in an attempt to hold off its collapse. After Prentice Mill became bankrupt, he was forced to sell the Atlantic Express. With no one to turn to for help, he sold his company to Austen Bathysphere Co., a subdivision of the Rapture Metro.

The Atlantic Express train system again became the main mode of transport through the city during the Rapture Civil War because of the subsequent lockdown and destruction of much of the Rapture Metro system. Subject Delta travels on one of the remaining trains during the course of BioShock 2, and encounters obstruction by ice at Ryan Amusements, lockdown by Sofia Lamb in Pauper's Drop, and outright destruction of the track via torpedo as Delta approaches the submerged Dionysus Park.

STREAMLINE MODERNE DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE IN FALLOUT 4

Paquebot buildings, streamline moderne furniture and airstream vehicles in an open-world game about the post-apocalyptic life after the nuclear war Fallout 4 is an action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios. Released worldwide on November 10, 2015, it is the fifth major installment in the Fallout series. The game is set within an open world post-apocalyptic environment that encompasses the city of Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts region known as "The Commonwealth". The main story takes place in the year 2287, ten years after the events of Fallout 3 and 210 years after "The Great War", which caused catastrophic nuclear devastation across the United States. An element of the game which I like a lot is the presence of the streamline design, or paquebot design, of some buildings, of the furniture and the cars. I tried to select some beautiful examples of this kind of architecture and design and I found some great stuff. ...

ARHITECTURA STALINISTĂ

Muzeul literaturii din Baku, Azerbaidjan. 1939 Arhitectura stalinistă a fost un curent apărut în URSS la mijlocul anilor 1930 și care a apus la mijlocul anilor 1950, fiind specific ambițiilor totalitare ale lui Iosif Stalin. Această arhitectură a îmbinat câteva stiluri, unite prin caractere comune, care deosebeau arhitectura stalinistă de celelalte curente arhitecturale din URSS (constructivismul, raționalismul) și din afară (preponderent modernismul). Rolul acesteia era monumentalismul clasic, care îmbina elemente din empire, eclicticism și art déco. După cel de-Al Doilea Război Mondial arhitectura stalinistă s-a extins, astfel, pătrunzând și în țările comuniste europene, Republica Populară Chineză și Republica Populară Democrată Coreeană. Exemplare minunate ale acestui stil în Europa putem găsi în republicile ex-sovietice, Polonia și România.
