Only in the interwar period cars became popular in Romania, especially because more and more people could afford such luxury. I decided to talk a little about the situation of drivers at that time, but also to present some vintage pictures (badly) colored by The Bunget. The statistical data is available only from 1926, but according to the book Automobile in Romania: History and Technique written by Chiriac Vasiliu, between 1922-1926 the import of cars strongly grew with an annual average of over 2000 units, so the number of cars in Romania was 11308 in 1926 (despite those 1,000 units in the pre-war period). I have some collection care models, which are very beautiful. I used to like watching them, but when I moved in a new apartment, I've lost some of them. Today when I was cooking I observed one of them, wich was used as a decoration for my desk. These models are very different, because they are made in two different countries (and I am talking about the toys), the French one was made in France, but the Soviet one was made in China. Despite the economic crisis, the German railways flourished between the two world wars. This was also the case for sleeping and dining car company Mitropa. Founded during the First World War as the German counterpart of Wagons-Lits, it entered a period of prosperity after the war, despite the restrictions it was subjected to.  Mitropa was a catering company best known for having managed sleeping and dining cars of different German railways for most of the 20th century. Founded in 1916, the name "Mitropa" is an acronym of Mitteleuropa. The history of this company during the interwar period was very interesting and the prosperity of the company was undeniable. This may I was for the first time in Switzerland. I just wanted to see how do all those science things work. The thing is that CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research) is in Geneva, but not really there.  For that moment I was not able to visit the city of Geneva because I was there for CERN, and the headquarters of this center was in the suburb of Meyrin. Meyrin is a municipality of the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland. The main site of the CERN particle physics laboratory is in Meyrin. Meyrin was originally a small agricultural village until the 1950s, when construction of CERN began just to the north. It is now a commuter town dominated with apartment high-rises, and many of its residents work at CERN or in central Geneva.  Meyrin has a population (as of December 2015) of 22,152.
