Imediat după absolvirea școlii de arhitectură în 1972, Michael Reynolds a început să se întrebe mult despre ceea ce a învățat. De ce să construim case cu arbori atunci când pădurile sunt ceva ce vrem să păstrăm? De ce să plătim pentru electricitate și apă atunci când se poate utiliza resursele inepuizabile precum vântul, ploaia și soarele? Reynolds a decis să proiecteze o casă din noroi, anvelope, cutii de aluminiu și alte obiecte de acest gen. Acum, o întreagă comunitate locuiește în aceste case neobișnuite numite ”Earthships” în Taos, New Mexico. Producătorii de filme Flora Lichtman și Katherine Wells s-au oprit recent acolo pentru a învăța mai multe.  Aceste case sunt cu adevărat frumoase și-mi aduc aminte de arhitectura lui Gaudi.
